Prajwal, a JD(S) leader from a prominent political family, is the joint BJP-JD(S) candidate for the recent Lok Sabha elections. The scandal has ignited a political firestorm, with accusations flying between Congress and BJP. But this is not a one time occurence. Last year, a report found that there were as many as 134 MPs and MLAs across India who were implicated in cases involving crimes against women.
